Those new Nissan GT-R's... I knew they were fast but HO-LEE-JEEBUS !!
took off like a rocket.

was a mile long bit of road leading up to the M25 from staines..
not seen anything as fast before (as in a "normal" car)

They are similar power and the corsa is much lighter so if nic has traction I can't see why he wouldn't win

I followed one of these recently along some country roads, by god that thing went, it just left me standing in a straight line, never seen something accelerate so quick.

I caught him up as he got stuck behind some cars, managed to get behind him, and the way that thing went round corners was scary. There was a section of tight sweeping left and right bends, I threw my car into those corners hoping for the best and was pretty out of shape, while the GTR looked composed as anything. I backed off in the end as I was pushing hard knowing he was just toying with me.

I only drive a 206 GTi 180, but its no slouch in the corners, always good fun to chase a car that is leagues above your own just to see the difference.

Was that before or after you got traction nic? You should do, same power but half the weight.

Steve, suprising, its only 80bhp odd more, but those gear changes and instant power over lazy power makes all the difference.

I tried against on in the astra. Wasn't even a dabble, not a chance in hell. Its the gear change speed that impresses me so much.

i have not had a play with one yet but mate did in his phase 4 vx220!

the gtr never got past and they were playing for 10-15 mins! not bad for a car that cost a fraction fo the cost! but vx could not get away either

just had look at figures and almost identical times to p4 vx220! vx220 has beter power to weight but would be killed in straight line race! lol

nics power to weight will be almost double the gtr's!

1/4mile time on gtr is 11.5-11.7

nics car around that even with fwd, on rolling start the corsa would win:-)

i think the issues about the cost of parts on gtr's are the worst!

I think that's a bold claim. Crail isn't the greatest place in the world and although Nic's car is epic, I don't think the sticky Santa Pod tarmac will gain him just over a second. New semi slicks will certainly help him though! Those ones are near on slicks
