TBH it wasnt a serious mistake and was more because I mixed up two invoices that had the same amount on - so forgot about one, which the interest on then cost £2k

Yeah a couple. I'm a CAD Tech so if I make a mistake on a drawing it knackers things up on site
One of my mates doing the same job as me put the wrong level on some steelwork and the floor went in half way up the window

Personally possibly sent an incorrect $3K modem around West Africa, got stuck in customs, cost more money and ended up being the wrong one. Luckily it was being brought back to a local Europe office in someone case.
Another lad in work caused an account to debited $10K in a couple of months that had to be credited back

If I make a mistake it costs a lot.
Put it this way say we produce 30k barrels of crude a day plus maybe 10l thousand cube of gas to export at say $100 a unit.
Something simple like pulling the wrong wire in a panel or forgetting to stick in an overide key can cause a TPS it can take the best part of a day to get back up to speed. So yes a heck of a lot!!
Not done anything yet touch wood I never will!

Yep, on Friday I trapped a cable between the metal housing and main frame on an instrument and it stopped working
Only a couple of hundred quids worth, but silly all the same.

if i fuck up at my work offshore, and my company get charged down time, its around 250k a day.....
i ve never (touch wood) had anything.
but the guy on the opposite shift forgot to connect up a hose, and by this time they had landed out on the wellhead, then thats when he realised, cheeky badger tried to blame me for it , when i was in my bed sleeping. the compoany got a couple hours downtime for that, probably cost around 30k....

Not really made any myself but one guy here a few years ago did a VAT return for a client, and thought they were getting a refund of £2k. He rang them instantly giving them the good news only to have realised he made a mistake a few days later. He had to ring them saying they owed £6k and iirc it was a few days before xmas

Another one a work colleague did was when doing a setting out drawing for an industrial estate. He cocked up the co-ordinates so it was built in the wrong place It was ok at one end but one of the buildings and boundary wall was going to be partly built on someone elses land by the time you got to the other end. He doesn't get let loose on co-ordinates anymore...

I did something similar when I did my very first VAT return, it was the other way round though - had us paying £8k when we were actually due it
Thankfully I hadnt paid it before someone figured it out!

Best bit was they had built the boundary wall before it was picked up. The client came to site one day and said it didn't look right. Had to rip it down and build it in the right place!
