On talksport sullivan said it makes no buisness sense what so ever to buy west ham, its just in their hearts to do so, also said its a dream come true and started to cry a bit tbh
said he told the birmingham fans to honestly that he bought them as a business, and allways wanted to be back in london football, the aim beeing west ham
said he would be willing for tony fernandes or the intermarket group to come on board to, wants the whole board to be wealthy west ham fans, best intrests of the club at heart etc
points from the press confrence
Still £110 million debt
- West Ham have borrowed against everything
- 70% of sponsor money already paid ( 3 year deal )
- If e.g. Bellamy was sold for £15 mill , WHU received £3 million and the
remaining £12 mill was sold to a finance house for less ( e.g. £10 mill )
- We owe other clubs £40 million ( incl. Sh*ffield Utd. he isn’t allowed to
say how much of that goes to the scum )
- Other clubs owe us nothing
- We still owe Curbs a payoff
- No players will be sold to raise money , this was a fundamental of them
buying the club
- Both are fans and wouldn’t have bought the club if it wasn’t West Ham
- they will approach Tony Fernandes
- They want to move to Olympic Stadium so that ticket prices can be reduced
- WHU has borrowed against 70% of next season and 60% of the season afters’
season ticket revenue
- They have strategic and operation control
- Sullivan has a 4 year option to buy the remaining 50%
- He complemented Duxbury & Igoe for keeping the club in business
- We needed to raise 8 mill in this transfer window and £12 mill in the
summer if the club wasn’t sold.
- They will make money available to Zola
- they have faith in Zola and the squad , although there is a vast amount of
midfielders and short in every other position.
- They would rent the Olympic Stadium
- Sullivan says one club in the Premiership has debts more than assets and
could go out of business by end of season – is it Pompey!?
- Sullivan has paid £52.5 mill for 50%
- Brady is Vice Chairman , Sullivan & Gold co-Chairmen
- Wants cheapest Premier League prices in the country if we move to the
Olympic Stadium
- They will speak to Zola re transfer targets

I think they can easily challenge for top 4 in the Championship.

not one west ham fan will think about top 4 at all.
mid table is fine.
get the club back on track first, even if it takes 5 boring years of mid table anonymity, at least it gradually gets the debts out the way.
we have a good team. we got hammered by villa at the weekend and didn't back down. no one can say the players aren't trying.
just need to offload keiron dyer the little shit and anyone else who demands silly wage packets.

i think they said top for in 7 years or so.
Very good news for the club should provide stability.
Also seems to be good news that they only bought 50%. Fingers crossed fernandes will take the other half. But seems unlikely in business terms, Sullivan did seem keen for him to get onboard as well

The press conference was pandering to the fans big time, a million sound bites and no cast iron guarantees.
Saying the club will be debt free, no stars will be sold, they will move to a bigger stadium, challenge for the top 4 and provide the cheapest ticket prices in the Premiership is excellent in theory and impossible in practice.

At least they are genuine fans, and know how to fun a football club, they also dont seem to be going in blind thinking it a money pit, so maybe they'll make things good.

At least they are British as well which goes a long way, Brady is quite fit as well. See if you can set about her James.
110 million in debt is shocking though.

That is a fair point. They seem to have won the hearts and minds of the fans already which is the biggest challenge any new owner has.

Nah, thats the easiest thing imo, as its very very easy to come in with all these big ideas and say you are going to do it. Fans will often have nothing else to judge you on so you are automatically loved.
Its keeping the fans on your side thats the hardest part. Its living up to those promises you made when the cold hard facts of the real world hit.

indeed. It helps if the things you say at the start arent complete lies that you have no intention of living up to though!
