Well, the time has finally come for my friend and dog, KC, to be put down :'( He's about 13 1/2 years old now so has had a good life, but the last few months his back legs have got worse and worse. We've done everything we can to help him, taking him to canine hydrotherapy and everything which has helped, but since yesterday he can hardly even stand up. We woke up this morning to find him in his basket covered in wee because he couldn't get out in the night to go to the garden, so we've done the right thing and called the vets to make an appointment for this evening. I'm really going to miss him though :'(

We had to have our airdale terrier put down in october last year, he was 11 and his back legs started to go, due to a spinal problem, then one day he couldn't get up at all, and was moaning so we had to take him to the vets to be put down, cried like a little girl , wierd though i have no problems seeing the bull's going to slaughter in work, even though i've seen them being born and fed them for 2 years.

We're probably getting our old english put down in the next few weeks.

Similar to Drunken, her back legs have gone now and although some days she can be perfectly fine, others she'll just shit or piss where she is lying as cant get up. She was 14 back in September though so is really cracking on for such a big breed of dog.

Had the same thing with the g/f's dog the other week. For exactly the same reason. She reached the grand age of 17 though and considering her health issues since being rescued as a puppy, she had a good life

RIP

know how ya feel, my 12 yr old golden lab was put to sleep after she collapsed in the kitchen. She had been struggling to walk for a while and that was the final straw, we decided it was best to let her go and not suffer. Still to this day i miss her running up to me as i walk through the door
