Bought this little beast off ebay 2weeks ago. Paid a wooping £250. No Mot, Taxed until march. Head gasket gone, 168k on the clocks. Im the 3rd owner.
Ebay pics:
Since then i stripped the head after confirming the head gasket failure. Skimmed the head, and re-done the valve seats. Now the head is ready to go back on. I am replacing the timing chain at the same time too.
I also bought a full corsa Sport interior and ive nicked the tigra 5spokes from my nova. Just in the middle of refurbing them ready to be wrapped in some new rubber.
Also sprayed the V grill black. Makes the front end look much better in my opinion.
Heres the car as it was today:
Stripped engine bay (But rust free!):
And finally one fo the refurbed wheels. Excuse the mess.
Plans on the outside are to colour code the bumpers, Spoiler and body colourd mirrors. Oh and tigra scuttle.
Lowering the car very slighty, ARB's.
Elsewhere i want to fit EPAS, depos, SRi/GSi steering wheel and rev counter clocks.
First job is to get it running and though a MOT, Before march and when the tax runs out.
Comments please.

After having a look around it, i think it will fly through. Only thing im worried about is a knocking coming from the steering

I dont think so, Without seeing the thread/ebay ad i cant say.
Also today i quickly chucked on the refurbed wheels. Getting tyres next week i think.
Excuse the mounting climb height, lack of most of the engine, standard suspension (not for long), and i hadnt moved the car since changing the wheels.
Cheers all.

Since the above pics, ive fucked around with this car and finally got it running.
The EML is permanently on, hoping to do something about that soon.
Couple of pics:
Fitted late Sport interior, Black headling/trims etc.
Poor pic of headlining
Need to get sill trims, passenger handle bit, as well as rev counter clocks.
Couple of bits that im not happy with on the outside, One is the usual front of the bonnet:
The other is a right pain:
Removed the badges, all the glue etc, and the paint has come off along those lines! Leaving the outline of all the badges. Pissed off with that!
Anyhow, MOT is tuesday. We'll see how it goes.
Comments welcome

168k is that the original engine thats a hell of alot for a 1.0 12v lol ive got a 1.0 with 80k on it and it runs fine but i would never think its capable of doing another 88k lol hopfully it will though
also my eml is constantly on it brought up a egr fault but i replaced the egr valve and its come back on

I would presume its original engine lol, not sure tbh.
Just finished giving the car a bit of a tidy, got some black stuff on the front bumper, going to give it another coat later as well as all the arch trims.
Got my rear seat bracket at last so no loose seats anymore.
Also sprayed up my spoiler, and just tried it on for size.
Colour match is OK, need to flat it back and polish it up of course.
Cant wait to get it all done lol

Passed the MOT fine No advisories or anything!
Then take one Corsa, remove front bumper
Notice rusty cross member.
Wire-wheeled the rust, Kurusted it.
Primered it, then sprayed it red (First colour to hand)
Then underseal.
Onto the rear.
HMM tasty rust.
Seems like its a bit bent here
No inbetween pics but, wire wheeled, kurusted, primed, and undersealed.
Painted bumper beam.
Put a second coat of bumper black on the front bumper, and resprayed the V-grill, Compared to the rear bumper!
Also blackend the arch trims.
All fitted.
Also black headlining etc.
Think that preety much rounds off this.
Spoiler will be going on soon, plus a few other bits to do.
Need to sort insurance out, then i can drive it
Comments please

Few little touchs done.
New number plate light, cost £2.50 iirc
Planning on cleaning up the engine bay
New header tank in the future, respray a lot of the things, including the rocker cover, various brackets, battery jacket and just a general clean/tidy up.
Otherwise i bodged tinted the indicators, and took one last pic of the trip stickers before i remove them some time soon.
Started painting the wheels too, just to make them look a bit better until i get my alloys finished/tyres on them.
Decided im doing the bottom end shells while its off the road too, Just need some money so i can get a EGR and AFM, then il insure it and use it.
Comments please.

Egr replaced, EML gone
Bottom end this week/end.
Painted the brakes all round, removed the rear wiper, fitted boot pop and put a smoothed grab handle thing, Also fitted my spoiler.
Put on my final 2 wheels that have been refurbed, tyres next week i hope.
Look much better without silver tyres haha Can see the painted calipers and drums too.
Without centre caps?
Or with?
Want it on the road, finished so badly

^Cheers man.
Wasnt going to update this until the weekend, but i cant wait.
First up, Smoked (Depo style) Headlight and De-badged grill (Freebie!)
Up the back, ive changed the boot lock thing, Just waiting for a Opel Blitz badge (anyone got one?!), otherwise ive added a irmscher sticker (Not straight ), aswell as a Opel badge. Trying to hide where the paint as been removed from removing the old badges.
Ignore the odd wheel. The Attempt to cover up the missing paint isnt looking good, Might have to just splash out on the standard Vauxhall and Corsa badges in the updated style.
Otherwise, got a few more bits to come, One thing is a big thing, that im keeping quite
Update again tomorrow.

Yeah i thought the V looked good, but the de-badged looks much better.
No idea on cost tbh, the engine bits cost about £150, i would imagine ive spent about £600 on it in total, No idea tbh, dont care lol
Will get some smoked repeaters, but free stuff is best lol
Update anyhow.
Kinda fucked off with the way the rear looks, need a badge for the middle but i dont know what, New vauxhall, Opel blitz or standard Old vauxhall. Opel/Irmscher/OPC badges hide the paint missing but not a fan of the opel one i think. Might see if i can find a corsa badge, not sure. Irmscher and OPC, for now are staying. Give it a few months and il get another bootlid and semi-smooth it and have it sprayed up.
Other than messing around with the rear ive taken off the trip stickers (No paint gone missing this time!) And picked up some bargain wheels with T1R tyres, Will run them for a month or so and then swap the tyres to the five spokes.
Car looks high at the rear as the drive is unlevel.
