Right, i must say, i'm not trying to drum up intrest from this, i'm genuinely interested to see what you guys think about my advert?

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=540348

Do you think i'm asking too much, and does my advert "read" well, should i add or delete anything?

Thanks for your time.

Mark.

See that for sale on a Scooby Forum a couple of years back for way less than that.

IIRC There were a few problems with it that needed sorting, im not going to say on here though.

IMHO you are asking too much.

Looks like a nice car, clean with a good spec. I'd say just below 2k is fair.

Engine - 1998 16v...................Mileage - 90000.................Price - £2500

Flowing like so i'd say its well over priced, looking at the pic's its a nice looking car though.

I'd say either be prepared for a long wait or reduce the price significantly!

I doubt that very much as i built it myself & its the first time i've put it for sale?

I will wait a week or so & reduce the price. Or may break it, will get more back i guess.

When you say built, did you build it from completely standard or did you buy it with bumpers and wheels etc?

Must have been an exactly the same then, i withdraw my statement

But id try dropping the price to £2000 and accept offers.

For £2500 id expect a very nice perfect condition XE

Hmmm, might give it a bash on egay, if that doesnt work out i think i'll break it as i should be able to get a fair bit back from that, just a damn shame to smash it up, and i doubt anyone will buy the shell, not exactly hard to come by

think it comes down too....people in the vaux scene want everything for fuck all.

if it was a vw, french or something im sure for the same amount of work you put in/price you would get it. but its same old with vauxhall....oh its a corsa, astra etc, its worth fuck all, forget whats been spent etc, its capped at 1500 or 2k bla bla.

2 good examplesonly examples)

nics LET he may decide to sell and put it up for £5k, i bet 90% of people who havent got a clue would say thats way over priced, why so expensive, its only a corsa, yeah may well be a corsa, but its also got about £10k sat in the engine maybe more maybe abit less+ everything else with the car

or if i decided to sell my engine, its got about £7k worth of parts in it and thats just an XE on bodies, i could get a decent return back through the rallying, where as id get stupid offers like £1500, 2k, etc. i know clarke motorsport/toovey etc would charge about £1500+ labour alone to just put an engine together, and i know the toovey motors arent anything that special

it wont change, people will always want things for rock bottom prices

Too true, 80% of the emails i have received have had "whats the lowest you will take" in it.

Fair enough if you come view the car, then have a banter, but haggling before you view the car, then the chance you'll turn up and try and barter some more?

If i buy i car, i choose a few i'm interested in, go view them, see if they have any faults / problems, then try & get the orice down to what i'm willing to pay.

Like you say, people want everything for nothing.

True, but the cage wouldnt go in with the sunroof.

Tbf, i think if i get someone who is willing to pay the asking price, i will get the roof repainted.
