Yep, that's right, I bought a new car on Saturday. Well, I put a deposit down on one at least, I should pick it up on Saturday.
It has 17" alloys, discs front and rear, sports seats. . .and wait for it. . .a 1.4 16v engine. I did indeed go for the 1.4 16v Grande Punto Sporting.
This isn't the car, but it's exactly the same, even down to the colour and alloys. 2007 07 car, 33k, 1 owner, FSH (even though it only needs 1 service, schedules are every 18k). Blue&Me, Cruise Control (I think), Air con. To say I'm delighted is an understatement.

Wasn't lightening performance, but it was just enough. The fact it did 70mph in 4th was a novelty and that it kept going.
Got a half decent trade in on the 12v (shame it wasn't going to a good private home - most likely be auctioned) however will sell privately on Saturday for the right amount - http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=542153
I just hope it proves to be as reliable as the 12v has been

OH MY!
Deano, well done for cutting loose and going for it. I feel like a proud dad pushing his kid off without stabilizers.
How much did you get for the Corsa?

£500. I think it's definitely worth £750 private - only the buyer has to collect and take away Saturday AM
Shame the garage didn't really appreciate all the service history, receipts etc. He did notice the different colour paints though

For the record, 47mpg. The 12v does 49mpg. Happy days.
Not that MPG matters to me. Within reason.

It also has some funky logo sticker thing near the rear wheel arch. The designer or something. Surprised they're still on it tbh.

Well, 49mpg is book figure 12v on Parkers. I get 48mpg and don't exactly drive it like a granny. Just let it warm up and don't thrash it all the time. My work commute is motorway only. I doubt the running costs will be massively different, but tbh, you pay a price for comfort and speed.

40mpg Not bad. I barely did long trips in the 12v so most of the time mpg was around 35 Although because I'm trying to sell it, what I mean is that it gets 50mpg no matter how you drive it
Gotten 100 miles out of half a tank on the C Not bad going imo.

As pow said, this shouldn't turn into MPG banter, but I've never got less than 45mpg in the 12v
