Right, I've done a quick search using what I think are logical phrases, but nothings really come up.
Basically I am looking at replacing the coilovers on my car within the next couple of months as and when funds allow. I don't really want to spend much more than £350 which I know doesn't buy me top spec stuff.
It's currently on FK Highsports which don't seem too bad, and a direct replacement kit can be bought for around £325 from somewhere like Venom motorsport.
Anybody got any other suggestions? I'm not going to buy the really cheapo eBay jobbies. I will probably look at getting the correct poundage springs this time round too, just not sure how I go about getting them

people slate FK, but iv had no problem with my highsports, why do you want to replace?

I found my spax RSX kit to be pretty good 
Still on standard poundage springs iirc, so higher poundage ones would be even better

Yeh I don't have an issue with FK, seem fine, don't creak etc. Are a little bit crashy but I think that's because they're the wrong poundage.
What stands out the most here (I'm not the only one who's commented on them!):
That's partly the reason, and also because they're 5 years old and starting to look pretty worn out - all the paints coming off etc.

On a budget tbh so £350ish. £400 absolute tops and begrudgingly 
I did think about getting these FK's totally refurbished, but by the time I've replaced all the bits and had the springs recoated etc, I may as well have bought a new kit lol.

i wouldnt go for cheap coilovers IMO, put a quality fixed rate kit on and think your be amazed

got some Gaz front coilovers here good condition comes with 250lbs springs and 300lbs £320 posted

Dale - Cheers for the offer mate, but I don't have the funds for it at the moment anyway - just doing my research so I know how many pennies I'm going to need!
Wooly - I wouldn't be going for a Jamex kit - I don't want anything too budgety (even though I know my price limits means I'm not looking at hugely decent stuff)
Jr / Will - I had started to contemplate this. What sort of ride height do they give? No idea how low mine is atm, I do like the way it sits atm though (and hasn't been impractical yet either!) I know a lowered Corsa is never going to be comfortable, but what is the ride comfort on a decent fixed rate spring kit? Guessing better than cheap end coilovers?!

Even they're out my budget!  Hmmm, will have to get saving or hope I can pick up a bargain I think!

I had Spax RSX on my Corsa and it handled pretty good but then it was a 1.4 so I can't comment on the results on an XE.

Bilstein B10 kit is around £450 on the sites I've seen! There's 1 kit on eBay for £320 atm but I can't afford it atm anyway! Presumably buy a kit for a Corsa then source the uprated poundage springs from Bilstein btw?

Had Spax for nearly 4 years with high poundage springs and can't complain. Car get's used everyday too.
