Well, i've been pretty quiet on here lately...and thats because i've been sorting out my new'un.

Wanted a reliably quick car...and i decided i wasnt gonna get closer than a Honda, and having enjoyed being out in my mates civic a few weeks ago...decided i was right.

So...i went scouting about and after moving from Integra Type-R's, to Civics...they were all a little too expensive. I then remembered a mate of mine who was at japfest last year (and i was looking at DC2's at the time) and text me saying that there were Accord Type-R's running rings around various cars there.

Anyways...they were all pretty reasonably priced...but mostly a long way away. I found this one on the trader...80 miles away and with a reasonable description.

So, here it is, now mine.

1999 Honda Accord Type-R.
2.2 vtec engine - 212bhp@7200rpm.
119k miles (however has only done 7k in last 2 years).
Full honda stamped service history up to 93k, and then two more since.
Standard fit HID's.

All in all am very happy with it...although it needs a service as lack of milage hasnt done it any good tbh, so will get that done monday. All in all though, its in reasonable condition. Engine is strong up to 8k (not found limiter yet) and it sounds lovely.
They all have short-throw shifters too, which feels great and even on standard, if a little tired, suspension it feels planted and stable. Helped by the factory fit LSD in the box. All in all, alot of car for the money tbh.
There was a Japfest 'best in show' one for sale, and thats going for about £5k, so they are a bargain tbh.

Will keep the updates rolling...but atm im gonna service it, get some harnesses from tweeks and then see if i've got enuf left for a set of BC Coilovers.

here's some pics of it anyhow:

they are just the sale pics so nothing special...but i am certainly going to be getting some pics of this beauty. The paint is a pearlescant black/purple...and is gorgeous in the sun. So a wash, polish and wax and it'll be fooking stunning.

Feel free to drop opinions.

I like these quite alot but their a bit big for the parking around my area.

Im after a CTR in the next few years when my corsa gives up, just worried about the gear stick position

I know you can't see it in the pics but that's a stonking colour

I know a guy round here with an Accord Coupe in that colour, looks boss.

well i intend to enjoy driving it...and when you are driving properly, they make a massive difference. I'm getting 4 point clip-in ones so they can be put in and out as and when i like. Its not a problem...and thats down to me wanting to feel safe and comfortble when im driving hard...which a seatbelt doesnt provide, i hate the things!

ahhhhh goodo, my advice would be to steer clear of lookers (thought you may be taking it to Liverpool) i've had bad experiences with the southport branch the previous owner had taken the teg to the liverpool branch for its entire life so may be alright. i was just gonna warn you but i suppose it doesn't matter now

My brother had a pirates black accord type r, he sold it to our mate for £1500 as it needed a new box (it's 3rd one), my mate is now selling it but not sure how much for. I hope you've got one with a good box, I think it's the syncro mesh something to do with 5th gear that breaks and they aren't cheap to fix.

Lovely car, lots of grip, great engine, great seats, enjoy!
