The most stupid and pointless car ever created (apart from the Citroen Saxo).

I was always under the impression that they'd never release it to the public (as it says there) as its a status symbol for real aston owners, I.E. I do own a real aston, I just have enough money to care about the planet some of the time
Cheap way to own a new one though

There is a point to it though.

Imagine chatting a bird up though and telling her you drive an Aston. Ideal.

It doesn't need it, it's exactly the same as buying a designer wallet, if you've got the money, it's not a ridiculous thing to do.

I'd rather buy an old db7 if I was just buying it for the "I drive an aston"

you would get little to no attention in one of these. at a glance people would think its one of those stupid toyota hair dresser cars.

If successful, it would mark a significant volume increase for a company that presently builds around 6,000 vehicles annually. More importantly, it would reduce Aston's average fuel economy rating at a stroke, thus helping to reduce the impact of punishing tax regimes around the world.
I don't think you read the article correctly.

Aha, so it's a very clever idea then, stops them having to cut the emissions on the proper cars.

Plus it will make the Gaydon facility more profitable and secure some jobs. Also, it's a bit of a risk, but if you look at what's happening in the car market at the moment there are loads of small, expensive and highly desirable/fashionable cars coming out. This maybe smaller than an A1, but it will probably make the A1 look cheap once you've ditched the hubcaps, cloth and tape deck (exaggeration).

Well it's not a clear one.
£30,000 for a Toyota IQ with a few different badges and a bit of leather?
