Not at all.

Maybe by chavs but they prefer Saxo's and 106's.

yes and no i'd say, some people can respect the work gone into a decent modded example, others just see an old 90's shopping trolley being driven by a chav etc obviously if you're driving one with shopping list, shit bodykits and lexus lights well... all the abuse you get is deserved

Yeah, ok. Well, i bought mine stock and the abuse has just got worse as ive been doing stuff to it. Its fine for them to get mummy and daddy or the bank to pay up, but i had to earn mine on minimum wage and ive done all the little cosmetics myself in comparison to a shop job or buying an already modded car and taking credit

I got funny looks when people didn't know the car or me... that was until I put my foot down.
TBH, Its a car, any car has some "stigma" attached to it.

If you like it and can run it cheaply then enjoy it, does it matter what everyone thinks?

^Agreed, everybody takes the piss out of my corsa because its a 1.0, but i like it so stuff em.

Get even more piss taken out of the Tigra, but its different to the usual fiestas everybody drives around here, its not slow and your never park next to one the same.

if i cared what people thought i would make a poll on an internet forum asking others to decide what car i should buy next. I like my corsa. I am more than happy to drive it. People only player hate crime on it as its faster than their cars. If you are happy win cares? Its a car at end of day.

Depends what you mean by taken serious, someone with a £150 bodykit will get laughed at all day, Nic Barnes' Corsa will laugh at most people all day.

yet still people will laugh at my car. as its only a corsa. doesnt matter how fast it is, or how well done it is, what components it has that makes it do what it does. in the eyes of most people, its still just a shitty chav corsa. this however makes a car like mine a lot more entertaining.

And you wouldn't have it any other way...

They can spend there thousands on a "new" car but all that means is that when it breaks there repair cost is higher

I don't think I get taken very seriously by people in mine. Does anyone else seem to get lots of hate towards them/the car as well? I get people shouting abuse when I drive past, tailgating etc. I don't get this in my other car. Sometimes when I leave my car a college I'll come back to find my windscreen wipers up in the air, abuse written in the dirt etc. Even had a drink thrown over it once. Pisses me right off.

I think the only main places where you get taken seriously for having a modified corsa is at shows and meets where there are other enthusiasts which is what I enjoy most about having a modified car
