"Aprilia RS125
The Aprilia RS125 is probably the best 125cc motorbike on the market today. With great looks, one of the best handling of the bunch, and a strong engine

Honda NSR125
The Honda NSR125 was always my least favorite 125cc sports bike for a number of reasons. I thought it looked rubbish compared to the offerings from Aprilia and Cagiva, and I also believed it to be slow. Well, now I have ridden one, I can say that it is a very good bike

Cagiva Mito 125
HE Cagiva Mito 125 - very similar in bodywork styling to the Ducati 916/998 has got to look good. The Mito is a briliant lokking bike, and the fact that is a Mito Evo 125cc is disguised completley from some angles!

Yamaha TZR 125
My first 125cc motorbike. After a poor start with my TZR125, like it being slower than my previous Derbi Senda - a 50cc, 55mph rocket once I got the TZRs powervalve spot welded open, all was good. It was really revvy, and had an extremely narrow powerband, but it handled pretty good, and I learnt a fair bit on it.

125 cbr honda
125 cbr honda OK, so Im not so keen on the 4 Stroke 125s. They are a bit slow, and they dont look as good as ... However, I had a spin on a CBR125 and it was actually pretty good."

Yup! Out on it at Mallory Park on Thursday.

The 125 and 250 bear no resemblance what-so-ever tbh, other than they're made by the same manufacturer.

But if its sports you want then out of the current 125 brigade then its the RS125 thats the best of the bunch. Although not strictly legal on 'L' plates, they can be de-restriced to 30-33bhp. None of the others get near that. Four stroke 125's are no where near the fun of two stroke 125's. But as said, two strokes require looking after, such as using premium quality oil and warming up to temperature before its ridden in anger.

Thanks Jimmy, I am actually 21 so could do my direct access but I think it would be better to get a year or two in on a smaller size bike?

Is it a lot of work to get the RS125 De-restricted? Also would I require L plates then?

Don't bother with 4 stroke 125's they are awful as said, a 50cc race rep like Derbi GPR or RS50 can keep pace.

Do a DAS!!!!!!!

Just get a smaller big bike. Don't need to go for the bestest most designer named supersport 600cc.

125cc, as said RS125 is probably the best, but that said the new little Yamaha 125 (mini R6 lookalike) is getting some really good reviews

the only advantage of a four stroke is reliability especially with the cbr 125

How much and how long does the DAS take though? Sorry for the questions!

DAS will require about a week (allow for) depending on experience, if you have a CBT (1 day etc).

125's, bar the Aprilia and Cagiva which are 2 strokes, I think all modern 125's are 4 strokes. Less hassle, more reliable, doesn't use oil like petrol etc.

It is a good way to get into biking if you've never ridden a bike before, but if your used to a bike gearbox, handling etc, go straight for a bigger bike.

Get a Mito, loads better than a RS. They handle loads better, going by the aprilia's I road. Mine used to do 190kmh down a big hill Still the best looking.

Definitely the RS125. The Mito is arguably better looking and ever so slightly quicker. But they're alot more expensive.

Or do as I did, buy a cheap 125, learn to ride, pass your test and buy a 600.

Dream on, the RS is known for it's handling. That shitty 7 speed box on the Mito will throw its guts out sooner or later as well.

Awful bikes.

Anything I've ever heard about the mito is it's better handling than the RS125. But is more unreliable, a common thing is to rip the oil pump out and premix the fuel with 2 stroke oil for added reliability.
I think they easily look the best.

I had the 6 speed one, it felt so much more stable, than my mates RS which felt wobbley. The only trouble I had with mine was the starter motor, but I always let mine warm up, before I rode it.
Have you even riden a Mito Evo?
You can't beat pulling away at 11krpm

I could take corners at 100mph, that I now take at 60
