No it will be fine, the bigger the hill the better it will be for your clutch.

Well when I learnt to drive my instructor taught me to do that, not on big hills tho, its so you can pull out really quickly instead of having to stop

it does increase wear and tear. I used to in the corsa, not in the fiesta as a clutch is more expsensive and it gets more of a hard time as i already commute across town to work
