Didn't this happen a few years ago as well over Scotland? No doubt it's done to grab information about reaction times and to show a bit of muscle flexing.

They do it all the time, Russian's always fly here and then when we intercept, they fuck off home again. It's just to scare us and test us but they've been doing it for a very long time now...

I hear they did, translated it went something like this:
(1 being the RAF, 2 being the Russians).
1-"what the fuck are you doing here in England?"
2-"we're in England?"
1-"you are on British territory, turn around"
2-"vodka?"
1-"..."

"In 2007, a nuclear-armed Blackjack bomber staged a mock attack on the east coast of England and got within 90 seconds of Hull without being intercepted. Creeping in low over the North Sea, it changed course only 20 miles from UK territorial airspace. "

One of the articles states that they do it to get reaction times of the RAF that they can then use for analysis. This certainly links in with what Butler posted. Saying that though we probably piss around in Russian waters in our subs....

Cheeky bastards! We'd just hold abramovic hostage if they did anything
Seriously though if they do this all the time, how do we seem to have semi normal relations with them?

they have been doing this for years, as already said, im sure we do similar things, they are probably just doing it as training / boredom. the new eurofighter squadron will be based there, to replace the F3

our govt is a disgrace, they have made this country into the nanny state it is now and its near impossible to get out of it, basically if you started trying to turn it around now, you would still ahve to write off the current generation of kids before anything would actually start to change
