About a week ago, on a country road I managed to drive over a GIANT pothole because some arse came flying round a blind bend and I had to pull right over. My car seemed fine afterwards and I had no problems. However, next day, I parked up, half on the kerb, half off. When I went to move off the kerb(slowly, as you do) there was a mighty bang from the left hand side of my car. It drove fine after that so I didn't panic TOO much and Eck assured me the car would be fine. I then did a 360 mile trip to Nottingham and didn't have any issues with the car, same coming back. Now however, I'm having to drive over speedbumps practically at a stand still as I get a lovely banging sound coming from the left of the car(The side that went down the pot hole) and it also does it sometimes when I turn the wheel about a full turn to the left. Any ideas what this might be and how much it's going to skin me at the garage tomorrow?

You know if you are heading to Cupar from Leven? Just before you get to the top of the windy road into Cupar(the one that was closed for months after it got flooded and the hill started collapsing). Well just before that there is a turn in to the left to head down to Springfield? On that one. You'd go down there if you were heading to Stratheden(Where I was on placement for 3 months).

Id say a broken spring, or even a knackered top mount.

I'm going to say some sort of bush/ top mount, just because I drove around for a while with a broken spring with no weird noises or anything, only noticed when the other side broke and I checked both sides.

Its a rubber mount the suspension shocker bolts to, cheap part usually, easy to change.

There is a used standard suspension set for a t sport on ebay for £100 front and rear so one front should be cheap enough if you didnt want to go second hand.

Sounds like a broken spring to me. Shouldn't really be a ridiculous price for a standard spring.

My money is on top mount especially as its happens when you turn the wheel. I had this from a pot hole it was so bad the top of the strut actually bent upwards.
Snapped spring from a pot hole is very unlikely unless its an e46 BMW

Expensive fix? I don't think it's a snapped spring as the car isn't sitting uneven or anything like that.

Mine didn't look uneven when the top of the rear spring broke off. The spring will just be under less tension than before if only a bit has come off the top.
If it full on snapped right in the middle then you'd know about it
