As in imports and other performance cars.
Just thinking really..if im going to spend circa 14k on a blody astra I want to check this first.
Is there any way in hell anbody would insure a 22 year old with 4 yncb on cars such as -
Evo 6/7/8
Silvia S14/15
R33 Skyline GTST
I mean for under 10k you can get a decent evo, and even if the insurance was about 2k Id proberly pay it but most places cant even give you a quote or if they do on like compare.com its like 4k...
Does it dramaticly drop when you get to 25 so by the time im 25 with 7 yncb I could insure most things?

I dont understand insurance, im always getting silly quotes whether its silly low or silly high.
I would like a astra sri turbo thingy me bob, i got a quote for my corsa and with 1 NCB it was £1400.
Now for a astra sri turbo, it was £1500, so for £100 more i can insure a car with over twice the power?

Evo's are just expensive cars to insure no matter what age you are.
Im 27 & pay just over 500 on my M3, an Evo 8 MR would stand me at 1200 quid to insure.
Imports I can only imgine will be more!!

get a cheaper car now...and then in a couple of years...get the import. tbh, spending that much on a car when you are looking to replace it isnt a good idea. Get something for sorta 4/5k and over the next few years save and when you hit 24/25, you've got the cash for the evo

I'mm 33 with 6yrs ncb and I pay £650 a year, i'd imagine someone under 25 would be paying well over double that for any import.
Pace Ward are the specialist evo insurers and will accept under 25s
On the other hand if you pay say £8k for a nice evo 7 and then £3k on insurance then your still saving yourself £3k on the original £14k you were gonna spend. Something to think about.
