Morning.
So discovered over the weekend that my smoke grey GSi was terminally rotten
Found this replacement being sold locally by a friend on here.
Eventually got it for a very very good price

So it's a 2000 'W reg, wanted as new a base as possible.
Engine bay has a little fire damage, which was reflected in the price.
It's been painted at some point and isnt a good job, again for the price i'm not complaining.
Its lowered 60mm, and has a set of Cesaros.

Plans -
Replace damaged/untidy parts in engine bay with parts from my GSI - DONE
Get windscreen from GSI fitted (Mines cracked & isnt top tinted) - DONE
Remove window tints DONE

shame about the gsi, but still u have a star silver now, the best colour in my opinion, lets hope this will be as good as the others! but i wouldnt put your gsi kit on it unless you where going that smoke grey colour, you could probably sell the gsi kit + sport interior and have yourslef a few £££ along with a lovely gsi interior, keep the suspension etc of the gsi!
Oh the possibilities lol

Wee update.
Front shocks & springs off the GSI fitted, GSI wheels on.
Sold the exhaust system off the gsi, and was given the old system to dispose of as the manifold and decat section were fucked so i got the hacksaw out and made myself a nice wee catback
Replaced the damaged airbox > TB pipe & fitted my BMC filter.
Will take some better pics and under bonnet pics tomorrow.

Update time.

My mate came round and fitted the toptint windscreen from the GSI, and done one of those magical stonechip repairs.

Quick shot of the engine bay when i got the car.

So, i've replaced the brake servo vacuum pipe, the pipe that runs all the way round to the throttle body, and piped up my BMC DIA to fit nicely behind the headlight, probably the best place for it, and its location helps echo the noise of it
Also fitted the plastic engine cover from my GSI, the top half of the inlet, and removed the SAI pump, just looking for a wee bit to blank it off the now.

A wee shot of my exhaust, was quite pleasant having a standard one briefly.

Now the big bit, swapped the cesaros & a set of GSI wheels i had spare for these 15" Irmscher twinspokes that my mate had on his Nova.
Also fitted the 'I <3 Sluts' sticker i purcahsed at ultimate dubs.

Next on the cards will be a good clean up all round.
Fit cam cover gasket & service it.
Adjust brake shoes & handbrake.
Arches, bumpstrips & bumpertops painted. (Some form of dark colour)
Removing aircon.

Another F.O.C modification

My mate was tidying up the tail lights on his golf, so decided to try something with mine.
Slightly tinted from the reflector up.
