Worst film I seen last year. Take away the 3d and it's the worst I've ever seen probably.

I said pretty much the same thing. The Story itself was laughable but the effects were unbelievable.

Aye. I was literally blown away by the effects, the boundary between what is real and what is CGI is now barely anything.

But the story was so Disney. Very cliche

When my brother told me the film was brilliant I actually said "Let me guess... Guy meets girl, guy and girl fall in love, guy screws up with girl, but then somehow does something amazing to win her back"... Which wasn't a bad summary of a nearly 3 hour film!!

The cliched story line I could live with, the alien wrapped in plants whilst other aliens kneeled around about her/it/whatever the fuck it is singing hymns is where I drew the line.

I burst out laughing at that bit.

Avatar was love story with a healthy dose of humans wreck everything they find, mixed with 99% amazing special effects, not enough to live up to the hype.

Could so easily have made it the best film of all time if they had even a half decent story with they effects.
