I know there are a few owners/ex owners on here so I am looking for a bit of info on them.
As I love my Evo I just fancy try something else, its that simple lol. What are they like to live with, any usual problems with them, are they good daily cars as that what it will be used as, They cant be anymore expensive to run/maintain than my Evo surely???
Whats the performance like on them, on par with my Evo???
Any pics of some nice ones about as well. Also are there any owners site I can have a look at??? Tried to get onto the M3owners but the sites down.

That colour is nice but I think the Yellow or grey for me.
Must have CSL wheels tho lol.
One passed me today in black, very low with the CSL wheels and red leather and it looked stunning.
Just want to see what the running costs are like for daily use.

Not keen on the yellow/gold colour myself
Did they do them in any shades of red?

Red ones are
Average MPG low 20's and don't get the SMG as its jerky at low speeds and annoying but is not bad roasting it, as it blips the throttle on down changes.

Get one, best all round car ive ever had.
comfy as fook as well as supportive, big but not massive refinement will be very good compared to an evo. However it is still a performance car so has stiff ride and clunky diff.
19mpg town driving
30mpg on the Mway
very fast but doesnt feel as fast as it is.
Steering is amazing, so much feel/response and ois a very balanced car.
Make sure you get one with all the options or you will find it hard to sell.
it wont be a go kart like the Evo but it is hugely chuckable. Immense grip from massive rear tyres.
servicing costs are mental but large intervals, parts are silly expensive (£900 for a 1 xenon headlight for e.g) lots of stuff can break on them most commonly window regulators, alternators, springs, older ones had rear chassis problems, aircon resistor goes, errr thats all i can think of off top of my head
Get one

That's some one on m3cutters.co.uk grey one. That's the best site I have found. They are very helpful. I love mine. Petrol isn't too bad and performance is excellent.
Get a manual as smg will break and is very costly. No problems with them really other than rear spring snapping. Get some eibach lowering springs and csl wheels and you are laughing.
Check my thread on page 3 general chat. Some nice examples in there. I'm on my phone so can't post pics. You will not be dissapointed. If your evo was the same as my mates r33 skyline then the m3 is alot cheaper to run
lots of pics in my garage

Jambo the list of the things that break on them is a bit worrying, I thought they were very solid cars. Also i've heard about the springs snapping like tom says a good aftermarket set would sort that problem. Also i've heard about rust problems on them???
The things you listed jambo, are they reasonable things to sort???
The Evos aint exactly cheap to run either, about the same price for an xenon headlight on mine, £650 for a front wing lol, if its on par cost wise with my Evo then I can handle that but anything over then i'd give it a miss.

Only problem I have had is the rear springs and the coils. Jambo's was jinxed find a good independant BMW specialist and servicing is resonable

I doubt it'd cost more in the long run especially due to their silly servicing intervals. But the M3 is a different class of car. They're a superb package.

Had mine just over a year now..........no plans to change any time soon.
Will be totally different to your Evo, so just try a few both SMG & Manual.
Infact if you pop over i'll give you a shot in mine.

Running costs :
If you steer clear of main dealers there not too bad!!
Mine had about £2.5k's worth of work done at BMW last year which if you went to a indy/done yourself would have easilly been under £1k!!

Most cars have common issues, the alternator is the only one id worry about tbh. Both regulators needed doing on mine but i never got round to it. Aircon is a £40 fix..
They arent unreliable at all, mines been to Cornwall and back a couple of times never any issues. Just ate two springs lol

Its deffo gonna be either The grey or yellow colour, not keen on the red.
Its gonna have to be manual as well as the SMG paddle thingy aint really my thing.
Ideally i'd like to swap my Evo for one as it would be a hell of a lot easier.
Really need a go in one first. Infact i'l need to go get an insurance quote as well. I'll try just now.
