If i have 1 bald tyre and i swap it with my spare and take my car for an MOT with no spare tyre will it fail for missing a spare?

actually a spare is only an advisory. You cant fail on a spare no matter what condition it is.

i thought it was a fail both ways :S

Rather than having bald tyre's just change them for a couple of second hand ones down at your local tyre place

cost you £10 a tyre

you dont need a spare it isnt a requirement. A lot of new cars dont have spares.

Put the spare on, and leave your original alloy at home mate and you'll be fine.

its not illegal to posses a bald tires, its only illegal to have it fitted to the car

They cannot test a spare if its not there

It wont fail
if your spare tyre is there and bald it will fail

Never even checked for a spare when I put my Nova in for an MOT. Didn't check the indicators either which is a good thing as they stopped working the day before and started working the day after

i do about it not being there. But he is wrong about a fail if bald. You cant fail for a spare tyre. Thats a fact.

your car will not fail for having a bald spare or no spare. my mates car 206 gti didnt even have a spare came with a bottle of tyre weld instead.

I cant say ive ever seen a MOT tester check the spare wheel before
