I seriously dont think i'll be buying one but Ive always wanted a go & 2 used ones have appeared at the Subaru garage down the road so im going to try & get a go in one.
Might aswell
Like I said not going to buy, I fully plan to keep my M3 for another year. However by then it will be 6yrs old & something like this 2yrs old example then might be on the cards if it impresses me & the figures are right.
That said M3 books at 16k, so would be great to change having only cost me 2k in depreciation in 14 months
I love my ///M though so this thing would need to be absolutely stonking to make me have an irrational moment of madness purchase!

Wont be just now, next year possibly would be something i'd do.
I dont want to keep the M3 to a point where it starts costing me money. Its already out of extended warranty & running on hopes & dreams, replacement parts are dear like!!

I think so as well, its going to be totally different to the M3. Both will be better in totally different ways.

I wasn't a big fan of them until I seen one in the flesh and I actually quite like them now.

Nothing to lose by giving it a go Colin.
Long term though I wonder if you would miss the comfort of your beemer? I am guessing you dont do a lot of miles as you work offshore so might not be an issue though.
Make sure you get a 'proper' test drive though

Out the box they are a bit dull, handling isnt nice, very oversteary etc, a change of springs and a 360bhp power package really does transform them, but then it means that a 25-26k car is more like 28-29k.... thats e90m3 money

Can't say I like them much either tbh.
Someone I know got one in white and whilst it looks good from some angles that rear spoiler looks wank and for the amount of money he spent on it could have got something far better.
I think the ST3 looks fine. Not as plastic as the VXR and some other rivals. The RS just goes too far and ruins the bit of appeal.

I've got to say that after working for car dealerships and driving hundreds of cars i drove a Focus ST.
This is probably the only real world car i'd have over my Scoobys...and that's saying something for me!
The RS must be a beast of a car IMO.I need to drive one.Mind you i havn't driven an E46 M3

I can't stand the image of them.
I can't help but think mid-life crisis mobile.
I can't understand the lairy paint work.
I can't think why a hot hatch cost so much money.
Can you tell I don't like them much
(No, I haven't test driven one, and my opinion is merely an opinion based on my own opinion)

This is why you trade it in for the V8.

Was out with a lad on friday who has a 59 plate one with about 1500 miles on the clock.
Looks alright in green, but its still 27k for a car that hasnt even got cruise control
Not bad for a 21yr old though....

Well ive only just managed to drive it about an hour ago.
I really liked it, totally different to the M3.
Everyone young old male female were staring at it.
It was a lot more refined than I thought it would be.
I missed the paddle shift gearbox the most but apart from that its very different to the M3 so cant really compair it.
Anyway there only offering me £14.5k for my M3 so its not looking like a goer just now.
If the numbers were better I may consider it as im starting to worry the M3's going to start to hurt the wallet. This RS is 6months old, 2.5yrs warranty remains & its only done 5k miles. Its like brand new!!
Ideally I could give them Jades mini & be able to have both!!
