So, after selling the corsa to doyle, i thought it was time for a nice new car. Something much newer, alot faster, with all the luxuries i wanted (aircon, climate control, cruise control etc etc)

So i decided to go for the Clio 182 with Cup Packs

Went and picked this up on thursday, and after an eventfull drive home, it was back! Gave it a quick clean today and took some pics, so here it is

New 3/4 plate, engine mounts being ordered. And the rest of that sticker on the back is coming off when i have time too!

On the way from driving it home, the alternator pulled out as the engine mounts were dead, the engine moved so much that it ripped the cable out.

So new engine mounts were in need. I went for the uprated ones from K-Tec

Whist we took the sump guard off, we found these lying arround on the bottom

Turns out they were out of the alternator which is now on the car, which also turns out that its the wrong one. Because the alternator wasnt on tight, it wasnt earthing right, causing lights to flash on the dash.........gheyyy.

Took it to a mate (lee) who had a look, and spotted that the aux belt was dying (not good) so i got a new aux belt, tensioner and pully kit ordered and fitted.

Started at 3:30pm

When we took of the tensioner, we spotted this nice sight

So took it off and it looked like this

Not nice! Got the new one fitted, but as the tensioner spring was so damn tight, we just couldnt compress it! After an hour of trying we tried zip tying it, but they just stretched. Then came up with the idea of jubilee clips which just held it so quickly fitted it

Sorted, went for a test drive, got back and it was squeeling (this was at 11pm) so we stopped it, turned out the bolt holidng the pully in unscrewed itself due to the washer touching the pully itself!

Eventually sorted at 12:30pm!

Sounds eventful so far, did you not notice any problems when you bought it?

Racing blue is the best colour for 182's though. Good choice
