bought some calibra turbo calipers from ebay as my existing brakes were dangerously low and the pads were almost touching
so i take tonight off from work as the calipers were due to arrive today! which they did. but when i unpackaged them there was no pads and no fitting kit. it was advertised as having both.
so i had to go buy some new pads which cost me £30 from halfords.
i have sent the seller a message explaining that there was no pads.
he offered to send them to me. but they are pretty useless as i had to buy some.
i have asked for the £30 refunded to me and he is refusing and only offering £15 as thats what he can get vx ones for.
am i wrong?

Not in the wrong as such but shouldn't expect the money back.
Should have contacted him first and not bought anything from Halfords.

So they didnt cost you £30 then he should have sent what was advertised, just take what he is offering other wise you will end up with nothing.

I'd agree with that but regarding the refund, I'm guessing his pads were used? If so, I'd take what he's offering, at least that way it's only cost you £15 for your brand new pads, it's not ideal but are you really gonna get anymore when he's realised his cock up and knows he's gonna be out of pocket cos no-one's gonna buy his part worn pads on there own?

tbh i wouldnt have offered you any refund. Its your fault you spent 30 quid on pads because you needed the car asap.
I would have been fitting new pads anyway not some second hand part worn jobbies

Contact the buyer FIRST if the item isn't as described.
Not go, oh, pads aren't here, I will buy some from a rip off supplier and then argue the point?
Ok, he was a bad seller and posted something that wasn't as described but you were also a bad buyer who didn't contact him before taking your own action.

so basically you were going to fit new pads anyway like the seller probably assumed.
You then spent x amount on some pads and have lied to the seller saying they cost you thirty bucks in order to maximise your profits.
You didnt even bother to contact the seller first and give him a chance to send you what you thought you should have. Your first contact with the seller was hey you owe me 30 quid because i couldnt fit these brakes any other time blah blah blah.
I'd tell you to run and jump to be fair.......
And you then ask if its wrong on a public website too.....
