Who's got any brilliant ideas for getting the back door open on a car open when it's stuck and you can't get the door card off because it's stuck

The handle mechanism is working, must be the locking motor that's failed in the locked position.

Can't get enough of the door card off without the door being open.

Hinges could be taken off but I'm not sure there would be enough play even with that

Not too sure about that, what car is it? is there no trim on the door that can be taken off, if not you might just have to destroy the door card to get at it

What car? If its cheap/replacable then just rip the door card off and get to the lock that way.

It's a toledo.

The only trim that comes off when it's shut is the grab handle, that gives you a hole a couple of inches wide but not enough to see what's wrong.

I was trying to think what a garage would do if you took it into them, they'd have to destroy the door card as well though probably.

No pins but the whole hinge could be taken off, I'm just not sure if there would be enough play.

Most door cards shut against the rear bench and / or have fittings that can only be got to at the bottom of the card once the door is open.

The screws to take it off are covered by the door being shut.

Is it your door solenoid though, a common fault on VAG's or just needs a bit of WD40?
