they have the same engine yet on book figures the 19 is faster, but also a bigger car??

nah, both are 137 bhp 1.8 16v

I would still say the lighter clio would be faster

19 16V is slower than a 16V clio. williams is quicker than the 16V clio

clio is quicker, williams is about a second quicker still than both of em, 2ltr turbo is it in the williams.

just read maxyp, says clio 16v=8.6. 19 16v=7.4 williams=7.6. dont know if thats true

i had a clio16v and they are quicker than a 19 16v had mine nearly off the clock on the way home form southend one night it was downhill by the way

Ive had a couple of 19's so has my mate, and a couple of clios, i reackon they feel the same but the clio just seems that lttle bit quicker on the pull away, but i reackon the 19 is faster to top end

With the exception of the fact that the 19 weighs 100 kg or so more, they are EXACTLY the same... Thus the clio is marginally quicker! The williams is eeven quicker though... P

Dont forget that the R19 is longer and more streamlined than the clio. Same goes for Corsas n Tigras.

Same engines, same gearbox, but tigra is much more areodynamic.

1.4 Corsa - 112mph
1.4 Tigra - 117mph
1.6 Corsa - 119mph (sport)
1.6 Tigra - 124-5mph.

Daimo Hit the nail on the head the 19 is more aerodynamic therefore helping the car when the air pressure builds up at speed
