Caught a 22lb mirror on sunday, not had a fish for ages, i mean probably a year without catching anything worth weighing.
What is your opinon of bait boats? anyone use one?
Considering one, but not sure i can be bothered spending out another £500-700 on fishing gear

yeah mate i'm well into carping. not been much this year, just had 4 night sessions and only managed a 16lb mirror so far. had 3 blanks on a local water i've started fishing again this season. you normally catch a decent low 20 on there but it's been difficult so far.
i dont mind bait boats at all. some people are dead against them but i can't see the problem. i regularly pay 50 quid for a 48 hour session and if i see some big carp under the trees then the boat is going straight out there. i keep toying with the idea of buying one myself but can't jusify it. i just use my mates!

i've seen some vids on youtube of some crazy bastard that strapped an underwater camera to his boat that had a live wireless feed to a monitor on the bank. i think if you go that far then it might be classed as cheating.

Used to love carp fishing but got abit board of fisheries. Mainly just go for wild stuff now, alot harder and you often blank but find it soo much more rewarding.

Hoping to get back into some fishing this summer.
Used to be mad on it, me and my Dad went all the time but not proper carp fishing, give me a waggler or a swimfeeder anyday... sleeping in a tent waiting for an alarm wasn't my idea of fishing
Spending a week on the Norfolk Broads with my old man next month, so taking a few rods each so we can have a few late nights off of the side of boat for some bream bags hopefully
More on topic though, I consider bite alarms cheating nevermind underwater cameras My biggest carp was a 12lb common on light float gear, good fight - loved every minute of it.

how are bite alarms cheating? they are essential on long sessions or over nighters.

i havnt been fishing for carp long. but i caught my pb months back at 9lb lol. my mates a big carp lad goes fishing allover country he uses a bait boat and swears by it.
i watched him using it and its really quite doesnt make hardly any waves, he uses his to take his rig out to the edge of weeds and drop it bang on the edge great bit of kit. but like you say expensive.
