Veg oil isnt far off fuel price now after everyone started using it.
You'd be better at Makro etc

It was £20 for a 20 litre drum in the cash and carry by me. 2 of my mates used to run their cavaliers on it. One still does. They made something up that heats the oil so it starts better in the cold mornings.

the only way to do this effectively these days is to recycle used oil, highly filter it (and I mean, filter it damn good) and it's possible.
New oil is as expensive as diesel since everyone began to do it

You've got to mix it with some diesel otherwise it's proper ropey on start!

cause you dont pay tax on it
if you declare you are using it as fuel and pay the tax its fine. sort of defeats the object though

You're not paying the correct tax on it. Food taxation is different to fuel taxation.

I've researched the fuck out of this, you DON'T pay tax unless you use over 2500L a year (not much chance), you really need a pre-heater as the viscosity is MUCH more maybe 30x at 0 degrees centegrade, maybe mix 5% unleaded to reduce viscosity, but reduces power. If you use 100% veg oil for a while then use diesel it clogs things up as the diesel will loosen shit in the lines/tank. Its a good idea to use diesel with UVO TBH all the time.

Part of road funding comes from fuel duty doesn't it?
