Just after reading the post about miami I just remembered that I was fairly keen on going to New York, anyone been, Good/Bad?

Is it expensive?

I've been, twice for 2 weeks each time.

Awesome place, cant recommend enough.

Not expensive if you know how / where to eat/drink.

Looking at going for 3 days in January. Doug just got back from NY

http://www.icelolly.com looks like it will be a good site, by far the cheapest stuff I can find, prices change every day though

I went for a weekend back in Feb 2001, was good.. wouldn't go for much longer than a weekend though.

I've been for a week, did the whole sight seeing/shopping, ice skating in central park and few games of NBA .. and i had an amazing time over there. the scale of it is unreal

new york is brilliant... was there for a week back in 2003 for paddys day... you spend alot of your time looking up cause the buildings are so tall...

i was there in september 2001 just before the twin towers came down. went and visited the towers took pictures ect. then came home and a couple of days later turned the tele on and they were falling down!! was a pretty mad feeling.

Exchange rates getting better I believe. Clothes are way cheaper as is food in general. I'm probably going to go over about October time to kit up after losing some more weight.

Theres a kick ass diner under the road bridge leading in to Grand Central for breakfast/lunch. Loads of bagel shops too which are awesome.

The touristy stuff I could take or leave tbh, Battery Park is a good place to pick up pretty good quality Rolex and Tag copies though!

I stayed in the novotel just off Times Square; did all of the attractions and it was awesome, we went at the end of October/start of Novemeber and all the christmas tree's were going up; lovely place at christmas time; really gets you in the mood for Christmas

I'm going in September but only for a day as I will be in NJ for 2weeks very excited so many films for America it has slot of history with Ellis island etc plus it's meant to be very cool place to be
