Am considering getting rid of corrado now, will probably split it and then scrap whats left (maybe)

Fed up with funding VW tbh, headlight switch has broke again, only replaced it last year for £55 +vat, not they want £68+vat, Really takes the piss and fed up with feeling wound around their finger

I have the cheapy escort i bought so can use that. But want to replace the corrado with something else, equally unusual/different etc

After top gear and me thinking about classics, i'm very tempted to buy an old british sports car, something along those lines.

So i want:

-old classic
-hard top, don't like soft tops etc (probably halfs the choice i have)
-up to £5k to buy
-a nice sporty shape

i bought a classic mag yesterday and love the look and sound of the traders here that cater for these types of cars, all old boys who really know there stuff and the parts are cheap (compared to corrado, i think anything is)

What about a kit car? Classic sort of looks but with a more modern engine?

if you're not planning on using it in the winter, surely a softop is ideal?

if not, what about a chrome bumper mgb gt?

yes, even something like that matt

my mind is totally blank at the moment, i'd like something with a noisy engine, possibly 6 cylinder or even a V8 but i guess the main thrill of these cars is a small revvy engine and lightweight

do you not think you will be moving from one problem car to another and thus being held over a barrel to fix an old classic car

i don't mind maintaining, fixing and modifying a car. Buts its stupid standard bits that are annoying me on corrado and the prices they charge for these bits. I'd much rather pay out the same money but see it go to smaller companys in the uk who are enthusiastic about what they do, old men in sheds

How much are the MG RV8's these days? Look so much better than the older ones (above) imo.

Edit Pic added, they also make an attachable hard top
