just put a deposit down on a astra 2.2 sri, BUT on the log book it is down as a 1.8 its never been a 1.8, it came out of the factory as a 2.2 and has the 2.2 engine in it. how easy is it to change the details back so it is a 2.2 on the log book?

Ditto... Mistakes like that will rarely happen. What does the engine code/number say on the log book?

it is from a well known garage around my area, all codes match up as these was all checked

shut it seth, the car is in brill condition for its age, all the codes match up, made sure we checked them when he told us the log book was wrong, we can get him to change the log book for us but that will take time so was wondering how easy it would be for us to do it

My logbook says my cupra is a 5 door......they didnt even make them. I just dont know how to change it

TBF DVLA do make a fair amount of mistakes with logbook details, ask anybody who has had problems with changing the CC!

TBH it sounds like a lot of effort for a bit of a dodgy car, just think of the tax and insurance issues!

from the quotes i was getting last night for a 2.2 and the ones im getting for this registered as a 1.8 the difference is about £70 so fuck all really,

Until you have to declare the astra as being converted to a 2.2, as that is what the insurance company will see it as...

no the car is straight, looked everywhere on it and no sign of any damage anywhere, dooes have a broken spring though that will be fixed before i pick it up and its going for MOT on monday

Broken springs on mk4 astra's are standard issue i think.
