if its had piston/valve contact, your funked, take the head off to see.

Could just be a lifter though, depends what kind of tapping it is.

You can't get shallower valves, the pistons will need valve cuts in them.
As said if the valves have been hitting all this time they prob are bent.

I've got 285's in my 20xe, I had to use double springs, RS2000 stem seals, and grind the wells out so the cams could turn. I'd speak to Piper I found them very helpful.

to get it right youll need aftermarket engine management, vernier pullies, arp rod bolts and some sbd metal cam idlers, then up the rev limit and map it properly.

just stop....

Put the standard cams back in - have a working car. THEN decide what you want to do.

Building a WHOLE engine around a set of cheap cams off ebay is fucking retarded if you ask me.

It will not be cheap. 1-2k without getting carried away.

For what probably amount to 10bhp.

just get an x16 or c16 and whack your inlet, exhaust manifold etc. on that. boom a decent 140bhp or so if mapped and rev raised a bit.

The '285' cams are actually 264deg

Piper seem to have a retarded naming convention these days
