At 11am I'm off to have major surgery on my bowel, I'm having a right hemicolectomy which will be removing the inflamed and narrowed part and hopefully give me some respite from the pain.
I'll be having an epidural for the pain which is nice I just hope everything goes well and I'm not stuck in there too long, I'm lucky in that it's being done privately and I get my own room and bathroom and don't have to share a ward with a load of drunks in the dirty NHS.
I can't drive for 4 weeks but my aim is to be fit for Coome next month, fingers crossed guys.
Much love

Private hospitals are great.
When I was in they gave me the nicest omelette I've ever had and a huge slice of chocolate gateux within 2 hours of the end of my operation
Good luck

If I didn't have private healthcare I doubt I would have had it done after my experience earlier in the year in the hands of the NHS.
Not knocking the NHS we are very lucky to have it but it's seriously under funded and it's starting to show.

I was given the choice of waiting 6 months for the NHS to get around to my operation or Bupa could do it within 2 weeks.
I didn't have private cover so my family paid the £3k
Good job you've got cover then!

What did you have done Andy? It's interesting as everytime I get something done privately albeit a scan or a consoltation I get a letter a fee days later from Axa showing me the costs, my CT scan cost 400 quid so I reckon this surgery followed up with 5 days in their hospital is going to run into the thousands.

Here we go, here we go. Far to involved with lower arms and taking 16 year olds to Alton Towers to get smelly fingers to remember your friends operation date.
That's it, deleted, blocked, Robert Russelled.

i shall probably be down on the 14th to visit with my daughter, is that acceptable, for a man like yourself to accept an invite for that date?

Probably? Now I wouldn't want to get I. The way of your busy schedule Steve as I know you are a busy man in the Internet these days.
