IMO it is one of the worst abused areas around. There are too many people out there on benifits that have Xboxes, Sky etc which IMO you should not be able to afford. If they can afford that cut thier benifits. Why would they go to work if they can sit back and get us to but them a nice LCD, games etc

We do much more way beyond any human rights requirements. Why do you think everyone comes to england going through half of europe to 'seek asylum' which all have the same international laws to abide by.
No luxuries, No TV and maybe they might want to leave thier house and go get a job. If your a basic wage person (nothing wrong with that) and you go end up on benfifits there is no reason for them to get a job. Until that changes it will always be this way.
This without a job after 1 year (those that can work) should get housed in a flat and fed (on bare rassions like we give soilders) they will then see why they might want to get a job.

Benefits are a fucking joke. They actively encourage people not to work. One of my mates is on them and would be worse off if he earned less than £7 an hour. So funnily enough he doesn't do jobs for less than that. They should start to decrease over time, forcing people to work.

I agree massively... in principle. Unfortunately though this government's policies are all wrong, on one hand they haven't given enough time for the recovery of the recession, the impending hike in VAT which will kill off alot of small business and the HUGE cuts in the public sector, on the other hand they are going to take a hard line with unemployed people, when realistically there will be less jobs out there. Yes review the people who have been on the sick or the normal dole for years but you also need to support normally hard working people through the hard times.
