What a shithole!
Went to Milan yesterday...wasn't actually that impressed with the city itself, but also did San Siro tour. Its an absolute shithole. Its now owned by the city not the clubs and its really neglected and tatty. The VIP seats and hospitality area was awful and the changing rooms were tiny. AC and Inter have seperate changing rooms but both are very small. They were probs the nicest part of the stadium but nothing special.
I'll post pics when I get home.
Shocking though!

I was thinking that if I signed for either Inter or AC as a player, i'd be a bit gutted at the ground. Also its in a scruffy area and theres grafitti EVERYWHERE. All around the ground.
I was shocked considering the size of the clubs.

I went to the Nou Camp on a tour of the ground and that is a shit hole
Graffiti all over the seats and all sorts, but the size of the place was impressive
If you really want to see a shithole stadium, the shittiest areas in africa are tidier and cleaner than the Espanyol stadium

The San Siro, the San Siro,
Is never full, is never full,
The San Siro is never full,
Unless they play Man United,
The San Siro is never full!

Must have been the old one, quick wiki and the old one appears to be the Estadi de Sarrią
I'm not surprised they've got a new stadium tbh

But it will always have more presence and character than any of the shite new stadiums that are now built.
If i had a choice of going to a match at either the emirates or the san siro i know what would win hands down. Padded seats can gtf.

He's not saying it has nicer seats or a better seating arrangement etc. etc. than the Emirates.
He's on about the feel of it on a match day when the place is bouncing, its got an atmosphere.

Joker.
Are you telling me the Emirates is a more intimidating place to go to than the San Siro? Honestly?
I wasnt talking about quality, i was talking about character, you dont get that with new builds. The fact the stadium is dilapidated makes it a much more interesting place to visit.
No i havent been to the San Siro but i have been to the Nou Camp which Strick describes as similar and ive been to places like Wembley, which is one of the worst stadiums ive ever had the misfortune of attending games at. Soulless, plastic, corporate piece of shite with fuck all atmosphere. Some of the best stadiums ive visited have been some of the most fucked up ones.
So yes i would rather attend a game at the san siro/nou camp than the emirates/wembley as i know i would enjoy the match day so much more. I dont want to go up an escalator to a padded seat only to be told to not stand up or shout. I want to walk up so cracking concrete steps, covered in graffiti from the ultra groups then stand in with a crowd thats bouncing off their tits and causing havoc.

Tbh you have missed the point of the thread entirely.
I was shocked at the state of the San Siro.
I wasn't comparing it to the Emirates or anywhere else.
I too would have loved to go to a game there. Infact we looked into getting tickets but there were no games on whilst we were there.
But I was suprised at the state of the place for such big clubs.
The Nou Camp is much better even though its tatty.

I've been to a number of stadiums abroad, for the most part they are in run down areas and look a bit shit empty.
A stadiums main function is to provide atmosphere when it's full though not look good for pictures empty.

Its an old stadium though, so its bound to be a bit run down now, probably state of the art when built. Id still love to go there and its one my list of stadiums i must visit at some point.
Maybe just me but i like grounds that are in shit areas (or at least deep in the city/town centre) think it all adds to the match day experience, especially as an away fan, it can really be intimidating and by the sounds of it, it does sound like a hell of a place to visit

MK Dons have padded seats, it was like being at the Cinema not a football match. Hated every minute of it.

Going in a few weeks for the Milan () Udinese game Although I saw both Milan and Udinese last year ha. Hoping it lives up to the Bernabeu in terms of atmosphere and excitement but given the likely weather and the fact its a late SUnday evenign kick-off, I doubt it
