Just got a ticket from the police for our car being an obstruction even though it doesnt block anyones car in or drive.

We have sent it back asking for a court hearing as we feel it just the police be dicks especially as next door has a son in the met and she doesnt like the police

Anyone else argued a ticked, is it really worth there while over £30

just pay the £30

They wont have issued it if there was no grounds for it. I've had one before for having a feckin wheel on the kerb or something like that.

Pull your pants down - enjoy the shafting - smile.

We are paying these jobsworths with our taxes.

Bit vague on your description. No-one can say anything, as you've not actually written anything other than a rant and a question.

They wouldn't issue an obstruction notice for absolutly no reason at all.

I got a blocked in a few months back by the silver golf(mine is the red astra).

So we started parking right next door to the Hyundi accident so everyones drive is free and they cant block us in again

eh? so you were double parked - is that what your saying?

If so - you should have paid the fine.

And yes - you hardly looked blocked in in the pic.... just a hassle to get out.

Why is that silver astra parking sideways on? Thats taking up more spaces than need be?

Seems to me that a neighbour has put a complaint in about it. police have just done their job.

I'd be more cheesed off about the neighbour who couldn't just come round and talk about it.

Looks like some order is needed as you could have lots more parking spaces if people parked properly!

is the person with the silver astra a complete git? i reckon they are to blame tbh. They probs flagged you up because you didnt cutyour lawn right or something.

Gotta be a knobhead parking like they have tbh!...

Plus...the police dont just 'run down' a road like that to check people's parking...someone has flagged up to them.

The daft thing is, there's room for twice as many cars in that little bit of road if everyone parked with that in mind.

I hate it when there's room for loads of cars but some people park cluelessly and worse, complain when you park efficiently.

Also that Astra is not blocked in. Looks well though.

If you have been done for double parking I would not bother going to court.

You need to check the offence code that you have been done for to see if there are any loop holes on this.

Either

PCN 26 Vehicle parked more than 50 cm from the edge of the carriageway and not within a designated parking place

or

92 Parked causing an obstruction

are only usable for off road parking.

Its possible there is law for parking at 90 to kerb also.

I dont see the problem with parking like that (in the pic).. he is in front of his drive not blocking anyone in and nobody can park where he is or they would be blocking his drive.. i agree it is messy parking though and parking next to the hyundai is double parking.

offene code is N121 Obstruction even though my car hadnt obstructed anyone or thing

The astra is like that as I was trying to get out. The police did nothing about this

Everyone seem so think its their right to leave there drive empty and park outside on the road just old farts with nothing better to do
