My old man got invited to some V8 Vantage open day thingy at the Aston factory in Gaydon today, so managed to tag along with him. Started off with a bit of a talk by the designer of the car, head of motorsport and head of branding at Aston. Was pretty interesting start. Then went for a look around the factory, unfortunately it was no camera's allowed in there. Factory was mindblowing though, so much work goes into these cars, all seats hand stitched, cars hand painted etc. Much more handmade than I was expecting. Was amazed by the factory though, seriously impressive how all the cars come together.

This thing is so much better in the flesh, really didn't like it in pictures but its a real work of art in person. Beautiful car

Then the best part of the day, got to take out a V12 Vantage out for a blast and a new V8 Roadster. The V12 was an unbelievable machine, so fast and just amazing to drive. The noise was just unreal, honestly driving it took my breath away. Didn't get to go too crazy in it but the ceramic brakes were awesome, the whole car was amazing, can't really describe driving it to be honest. Went in the Roadster after, apart from the V8 noise it just couldn't compare still a great car though.

Anyway, thats been my day. One hell of a day out with some awesome machinery.

That is amazing

How different is that chassis compared to a corsa B!

I mean it's like they are both cars, but one is so so different.

I know this is a ridiculous comparison but the corsa B is all I know in such detail.

Yeh the Chassis' are pretty amazing, all glued together. Was good to see how they are all put together, barely any nuts and bolts on the chassis and panels. 16 bolts holding all the engine and drive train to the car. Impressive stuff.

Their old base is nearly 60 years old tbf. And their production run was alot less too. It's still used, but for restorating and servicing IIRC.

Oh coarse i understand that i mean you cant compare a brand new building to an 60 year odd one imean its just so much better for customers suppliers ect to visit, the old one is still pretty smart with the cars lined up out side but yeah they do servicing ect there
