Time for a project thread me thinks as inspiration is lacking at the moment…Opinions welcome, good and bad

Bought this Sport last year. Was impressed with it and got it at a good price but there was some things I didnt like. Things like the previous owner had put larger wheels on and cut away the front archs and liners so there was muck everywhere. My plan was to bring it back to a decent spec. Over the last few months I have been trying to work on it when time allows. I decided I’d buy the parts I need here and there so I don’t notice it so much financially. Shed is full of parts now though ha ha
Anyway here’s the car as it stood..

On the way home

Gave it a wash and took some pics with my other Corsa

Pic of the engine as it stood. Has Mantzel, Janspeed 4-2-1, Superchip..

Video of a spin me and my bro went for.. Can't say it was a private road though oops..

Clicky

Did some bits straight away like de badging it and had an attempt at making my own bootlock badge

Was well happy with the outcome

Then fitted a new headunit, Alpine IDAX305..Tasty..

Was deciding what to do with it then and what route to go so just started buying stuff as the weather was shit here and I had no shed to work in..Fucking hell L

Tigra dash, delocked door handles, ignore the mirrors..not going fitting them now..

Bonnet lifters, Bee Sting, New wiper arms & Piaa silicone blades, New Leather gear gaiter

New Bulbs and Blue dash kit

Carbon Grill & other interior bits

Momo Jet wheel

Pulled the finger out and fitted the clocks and the steering wheel

Decided to fit a new pollen filter and give in around there a good clean, forgot to take a before pic though..Was full of crap though, ye should check yers

Picked up a Tigra Scuttle & some more bits

Powerflex exhaust hangers, Rear plate lens & led, Side repeaters & Chrome bulbs

Cleaned up the K&N and bought a new airbox and modded it in a tidy way as the one in the car was mangled by the previous owner, was basicly just a cover and a filter

Got some sills made by custom fabricators, the question marks being that she’s a bit faster than a standard Sport.. Idea seemed good in my head ha ha, I like them though..

More to follow..

I just got a momo boss kit when I ordered the wheel. I lost the airbag though. You can't keep the airbag unless you get another airbag steering wheel..Think Irmscher do them but they cost lots ha ha

Yeah the brother has a Pajero jeep.. He fitted a camera just under the rear spoiler on the back and a screen is now his rear view mirror.. When turned off the screen acts as a mirror on its own but when driving/reversing it activates the camera.. Cool and handy item really..

Brought it down the back of the house and started stripping it.. Wasn't happy with the condition so decided I had abit of work ahead of me..

Left it for afew weeks as I got lazy. Cleaned underneath then with Gunk cleaner and brushes..Prick of a job lying under it with stuff dropping on you but got it super clean..

Tank removed

Tank was a right state..tut tut ha ha.. Have to do something about that..

BANG and the rust is gone.. Grinder & wire wheel works wonders..

Got some cans of paint from Frost Automotive specifically for petrol tanks.. Came out well..

Gave the heat shields the same treatment with VHT paint and lacquer

My plan was to just clean up the underneat and paint stuff black.. My brother put the idea "if your going to go to the bother then maybe make it stand out abit" Not too sure what it will look like when all together but too late now

Rear axel got the same treatment.. Grinder, kurust, primer, paint..

Wishbones, tie bars & battery tray..

Gone way beyond what I had planned but I've started now so have to finish it.. Modding cars eh..

Ya that's not the one I got but my brother wired in a resistor to cancel the light. Best get the airbag one and be done with it. Careful taking off the wheel mate, don't let it go bang in your face

Plan is to just get it really clean for the moment yeah.. Engine is powerful enough for me for the time being, can be changed if I get bored of it.. Fella I bought it from had a printout from a rolling road saying 147 bhp but I was very sus.. It feels fast but can't have that power.. I'll get it tested myself in time to come anyway.. Be happy if she touched 130 odd the way she is..

After a long time getting it all ready I finally got the underside sealed. Spent days getting rid of small spots of rust and then getting it clean enough. Happy with the outcome.

contrast between floor not done and rear arch done

Petrol tank straps were take off, primed & painted

Got new fuel line holder clips as the ones there were broken and pipes were just cable tied together..I like the small details..

Gave the rear brake compensator a lick of paint to brighten it up too..

Holy smokes thats mint!!! Clean as fook mate, top effort!!

Id love to do this to a car, but then id be bothered about if i used it, and someone crashed into it, insurance just wouldnt take into concideration how mint it is. Theyd just see a Corsa, nota rust-free, immaculate car.
