Just wondering how this could have occurred and what technique would be used to fix it. Was like it when we got it.
Both rear quarter panels have like a very minor ripple effect, you can only see them at certain angles, its about every 12 inches or so where you can see the faint line along just the rear quarters. Its very minor, my dad keeps telling me I'd be wasting my money getting it repaired but they annoy me  Its deffinitely not the paint work because if you run your hand over it you can just about feel them.
What would have caused them? Is it a sign that its had a bad shunt up the arse?
And what would they do in the bodyshop to repair it? Would I be looking at a big bill?
Its hard to explain what way it is, I tried to take a pic but couldn't get the ripples to show.

Could be bad shunt up the arse thats caused the quarters to crease.
By the sounds of it, they are both full of filler. Which can often result in rippled looking effect. What color is it?

I never thought of filler but it does sound like it could be it now you said. I'll try the magnet thing tomorrow and see what happens.
Its a pity I din't notice them before I bought it

Polar sea blue is the dark blue yeah? Ripples in filler is easier to spot on darker cars, black is a twat to fill at times.
As for repairing it, a bodyshop would probly just block it all flat, give it a decnet primer, and block it all again well, and paint both quarters, possibly needing to blend into doors/bootlid, could be expensive!

Not read it fully but sounds like a rushed repaired that hasn't been finisshed properly. Loads of filler i'm guessing

 , not good by the sounds of things.
Should of mentioned before hand but the n/s quarter paint work isn't as shiny as the rest of the car, more evidence that work has been done. Dissapointed now, will try a magnet tomorrow (any other ways to check?) and if its full of filler time to sell on me thinks.

Woudlnt sell if cause of a bit of filler. Youd be amazed how many cars have filler.
Ive alredy replaced 2 quarter panels on 2 different 10 plate cars, that means chopping off panels, welding new on and filling over the welds.

Take the rear door cards out and look at the back of the panels. You will be able to see how bad the damage was

So filler isn't a bad thing? I've always thought filler would crack a few years down the line? Especially when theres plenty of it.
And then theres the cost of it before I can start modding the damn thing Good excuse for a full respray though

Depends how the panel has been prepped before hand. What filler is used and wheter it was mixed up properly

Went out with a tiny magnet and tapped all over the panel to see if it wouldn't stick any where but it stuck everywhere
So done what you said Tom and took of the door cards and there was no damage, I couldn't even feel the ripples on the inside, maybe thats because of access though, I wasn't able to get a good feel but there was definitely not any damage that I could see 
So whats that lead you to think then?
Going to take it to a bodyshop and get some advice where they can see what I'm on about anyway

A pic from behind the door card or outside? Door card is back on.
As for the dent repair, from behind the card I couldn't see or feel any imperfections at all.

What would have caused it? And how would it be fixed? Does it need a new rear quarter?

Cool, will get it sorted soon as long as the bill isn't huge, at least I know its not a whole quarter now I'd get you to do it but your a bit far from me lol

Looks like the moulding has been pushed in at some point and caused the quater creasing slightly. Tbh I would live with that.
