You can only answer this if u live with multiple people really..
Say you're in a room where u cannot see who is about to enter the property, can u tell who it is just by the 'jangle' of their keys?! I can
Is it just me?

Not exactly a MIND BLOWING ability as there is only a finite number of people who are going to have keys lol.

I can tell that there is a TV or monitor on in a house without it having sound on or being able to see it - I get a high pitch whine in my head; always been able to do it - I don't know why now that's a useless ability to have

Make that 3, I can also tell if the light in the back room is on with my eyes closed. I can only hear it though, my mum and dad were in with me when I heard it at first but they couldn't. iirc from 2nd year biology it's to do with you only being able to hear higher frequencies when you're younger due to the bits in your ear 'wearing away'

dont get the high pitched whine, but there's always a buzz when a tv is on, well I get that anyway and assume other people do too!

I sometimes hear high pitched noises that the missus swears she cant hear, isnt it scientific proof that men and women have slightly different freq. ranges they can hear?

The 'whine' is usually caused by transformers, chokes or deflection yoke (think that is the name of them) usually in old CRT sets. If you can hear that (it's around the 50KHz area) then you probably can hear switch-mode power supplies that are typically found in mobile phone chargers.
I can hear both, likewise i can sometimes tell when someone has bluetooth switched on.
Back on topic, i can't tell who's coming in just by keys but like Jay can usually tell who's walking up the stairs in the house.
