1.5 TD is about as quick as a 1.2 16v corsa sxi for eg

Would rather have the sxi though... smoother and less unwanted exterior noise

apparently they r make excellent rally cars, would need a stupidly big spoiler tho, cos the mix of rally looks and the turbo combinded means u need more downforce.

We know offer a conversion for TD corsas to put a 2.2dti lump producing 165bhp looking for a car to do it on at the mo. Will hammer most of your corsas and imagine the torque!

i was gonna buy a TD, thought i'd ask my dads opinion on em cos he likes his cars............

his reply "diesels r for people who don't really enjoy driving" cracked me up.

Guess i'll never own a diesel, no one in my family has owned or wanted one. Must be in my genes.......

diesels are going to be the hot hatches of the future so dont knock it...... plus you get more torque out of them when tuned

my dads car is the 2.2dti vectra SRi....0-60 in thats 9.8 secs and 30-50mph in 4th gear is 7secs.....the 2.2 petrol is 0.6 seconds quicker 0-60 and is 1.0 seconds slower 30-50 but best of all the 2.2dti is averaging at 44.#mpg at the moment over 1200miles and it will only get better.
