Really cant decide between the two, not had a chance to use the HD yet, but the normal desire is a fantastic phone.
HD has the better camera, and id say it looks better too. Have to wait for it though, not released yet.
iPhone has all the apps, and seems slightly better to use.

I *think* PaulW explained the camera on the Desire and HD is the same just the features need unlocking on the normal desire with Froyo 2.2.
Cant comment on the iPhone as I dont have one, the missus has a 2G I think so is about 3 years behind the times (I told her not to buy it only 5 months ago ). From the outset it looks like the availability of apps etc is better on the iPhone but you MUST use iTunes and its dogshit so for that reason alone I stay away from them

Camera on the Desire HD is different, it was just the 720p recording that was brought to the Desire with Froyo.

Whatever John recommends is the correct copy and pasted e-response.

Thanks Nic, I specifically didn't say anything about the iPhone, you aren't the sharpest tool in the box though are you.

Can't make a bad choice tbh.
If your a geek or desperately need flash: Desire
If neither of the above tickle your fancy get the iPhone.

Also, if you've got an iPod and you've bought into iTunes then an iPhone will be good - though you can remove the DRM from iTunes music...

no difference in hardware really
so it all depends on whether you want android or iphone os.
the desire will probably be cheaper though

I'd go for the iPhone, only because I have one.
Excellent bit of kit.
Can't say much about the Desire, played on Mark Grahams, and it seemed alright.

I've never understood that tag. Why is the desire the geeks choice? Surely they both are as neither phone is pretty, so its certainly not about style

its because apple users think they are cool for using apple. so every other product that is battling against it is automatically a geek product

It came down to price for me, would happily have either but the desire was free on a £30 contract or the iPhone was at least £90 on a £40 contract

lol, and the justification to all the things it cant do that most of the competition can is to just jail break it, like its an option in the settings or something, thats more geek imo, that you have to perform a g33k task to get what should be standard features
just lolz
