When do the daily limits on your cards get re-set? I've bought a car tonight and cant get the bank to get the money out.

I've used both my cards and taken out the maximum £600 for today. Question is when can I go and take another £600 out? Does it reset at midnight or do I have to wait 24hrs?

A lot Banks put ATM limits on cards, especially debit cards, to limit the amount theives can take out. Personally i'd be worried if my card didn't have a ATM limit on it.

Kano - Usually midnight but don't hold me to that.

Edited - didn't read the bank bit...

A bit ropey going getting £600 out of an ATM at midnight isn't it?

In answer to your original question yes the 'daily limit's' reset at midnight.

It is usually midnight. I've had to do this a couple times before. Last time the bank froze my account as they thought it was suspicious activity! Had to ring them and confirm it was me that did it

If you ring them, they will usually lift the limit for a certain time period so you can withdraw the full amount needed.

He could have been going to one of these places?
British Antarctic Territory
Falkland Islands
Gibraltar
Guernsey
Isle of Man
Jersey
Saint Helena and Ascension
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
Tristan da Cunha
Or Zimbabwe who also apparently accept gbp as legal tender

With my Halifax account, I have a daily ATM and over-the-counter withdrawl limit.

So much for being able to easily withdraw your own money.

That's why you spread money out over several accounts then if you need lots of money quickly you can do so

I just phoned and asked for my limit to be raised, think it took a few hours though.
But mine is £500 now, was £300 before.
