Thinking about buying one of the above
Would be a pre facelift Cayenne S around 2003/2004
or Face lift BMW X5
Swaying towards the Cayenne but just wanted peoples thoughts, i know whittie has an X5 and there was someone who had a cayenne.
Not worried about running costs.
4.5 V8 is very tempting

If I HAD to chose between the two it would be the Cayenne.. They are so cheap now for what you get and there are sooo many X5's on the road but not that many Cayenne's.
What makes you want a soft-roader anyway?

Blimey that S is hardly touched!
If the turbo needs any new panels (floor or r/o/s quarter.. clearly needs a boot lid) I'd say its over priced because I'll bet they dont do pattern parts lol! If it can be tugged out its worth a pop though, can't really tell from the photos
Defo got to go pre2005 though so you dont get arse raped on the tax..

I'd go for the Porsche.
A friend has one, the interior quality is SO much nicer than the X5 I had. Plus you feel nicer in it!
Proper shit pic of the interior.... but everything feels so cheap in comparrison to the Porsche, and for similar money I would want things to feel like they're well made.

Edit: HOW much nicer is this!
http://mms.businesswire.com/bwapps/mediaserver/ViewMedia?mgid=71068&vid=5
Not sure on the engine he has, but it guzzles petrol, sounds like world war 3. Was a lot quicker than the 3.0 derv x5 anyway!
For some reason I think the front of the porsche looks "Wrong" maybe its because theres a huge gap between the floor and front bumper
Edit: If anything fails on the x5, be prepared for a HUGE bill mechanically. I think the porsche serviceing would actually be cheaper too.

Nah seriously I've never liked any of the porsche cars that they've made...well only one which is the 959, but they just don't appeal to me same as Aston Martins.

Cayennes are certainly better built than the X5 (even an early X5 is better built than a later one imo)
Cayennes are also pretty damn quick for the size of them - still not 100% on the look though!
This instead of a "proper" Porsche now then?!

Saying you've 'never liked something' isnt really an answer to WHY you dislike it..
I'm guessingyou've never actually driven one so is it just the looks? Surely it can't be the 'image' beacuse you like BMW's which are the ULTIMATE in wanker accessory

Nope no tattoo's.. But I've driven all sorts of cars and this is the first time I've ever been sold on a brand and a brand that is obtainable.. Love them.. They just build cars with a perfect mix of style and substance I dream of the day I could own a brand new GT3RS.
