Hi guys just need a little bit of advice really from some of you hard core gamers, computer users.
I've got a laptop which is currently running Vista Home Premium, and my dad bought back a few copies of 7 from work that i could install if wanted etc. But just wondering what everyone thinks is best,
1. Keep vista install
2. Install Windows 7
3. Install XP.
A few technicalites to consider, i use my laptop pretty much everyday, i use programs such as photoshop. flash dreamweaver, and have a lot of music to play. Is it to my understanding that 7 uses less processing power etc? But then again XP uses even less :\
Any help here would be great, i want to upgrade but dont want to if its going to cause hassle etc.

thanks so defo think win 7 then, whats the advantages, reckon its worth just installing copy onto hard drive and leaving vista on as well just in case?

sweeet shall have a little look through the collection then  thanks.
How will i go about installing it? remove vista then install or? Leave vista and just insert disk etc?

turn on pc, press whatever button you need to to get into BIOS
Change boot mode to "boot from CD"
put cd in, save bios and exit
it will say "press any button to boot from disc" (press any button)
format your hdd and install windows 7 - YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING SAVED ON YOUR HDD TO BACK UP WHAT YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE TO ANOTHER DEVICE!!!

BEfore you go into bios, just check there isnt a boot menu shortcut as mine does. It'll be slightly easier if it does.
Also remember to change it back from CD after youve done or it'll try boot from CD everytome you turn it on!

Ok iv'e only got windows 7 x86 32-bit, could get a x64 but be so much hassle, still worth install? whats the difference exactly?

vista is dire.
I'd recommend installing XP to get rid of vista if you cant get your hands on 7

I tried 7 for the first time on Saturday.
I don't think it's much different to Vista, tbh.
