A guy from Ford rang me earlier to arrange it all, got it first thing in the morning, he sounded pretty positive about me getting the job
Actually really looking forward to it! Finally get to leave working part time at Morrisons after 3 years!
Anyone else here work at Ford or done their apprenticeship through them?

Well done man! You'll be joining me I started 2 month ago at Polar Ford Bradford as a service techy. Just come back from 2 weeks at the college in blackpool, which was quite good. I'm sure you'll do fine, the lads i work with are all sound. Hope your not a stranger to work, obviously coming out of work you should know the inns & outs. Hope all goes well for you man! And i hope you enjoy it as much as i am! I'm currently on £3.50 an hour, which isn't bad coming out with nearly £600 a month. Pays for insurance/tools etc etc. You won't be starting college till next year minst, so i'll be year 2 then so hopefully we'll cross paths! Need any help let me know?

Speculate to accumulate and all that. That's the whole idea of an apprenticeship, take someone who isn't skilled and transfer them into a skilled worker with increments along the way.
Good luck.

And i'm on the better first years apprenticeship wage! Spoke to a few lads at college their only on £100 a week. I'm on just shy of £150. I think myself very lucky believe me.

Cheers SnK, was hoping you replied after reading your thread a while back! Didn't realise they did the training at a college in Blackpool, i looked at the places and said there were only 2 places down in London a right trek!
I'd be happy starting on £3.50 an hour to be honest, it might be a shit wage, but you have to start somewhere really.
Well if i get the job i'll let you know when i start college and see if you're there the same times
Already starting to get nervous for the interview tomorrow!

Your 2 weeks at college... what were the arrangements? Like did you have to take your own car? Is everything paid for etc?

Cheers. Surely you should be getting paid more? Theres a £2.50 an hour minimum wage now isn't there? Unless you're doing less than 40 hours
