Somedays I cant justify what I spent on a green ford escort......let alone what some people did.

Looks lovely - however as mentioned there are other cars I'd go for instead.

I'm a nob so I refuse to believe it's better than an ///M5.
Looks lovely though, but wheels could do with being a nicer shape

Very nice. The chrome strip on the rear end looks horrendous painted white though, it looks a totally different finish to rest of it.

They are still old mans cars though. I think they look nice yes, but too fussy and generic. You can tell the American influence with those god awful front lights with the Amber reflectors. It's a nice car but no way would I part with my money for one.
M5 or E65 over this

If I was ever lucky enough to be spending that sort of money I'd consider one.
But the new XJ is horrific. I see one quite often in the morning as an old retired guy further along the road from me drives down to the shop for his paper in it. It's a mess.

I find the colour of the XJ makes a massive difference to its appeal - I see a few daily and lighter coloured ones, especially champagne coloured look horrendous but in the blue colour (bit like Ford Imperial blue) it looks stunning

I'd just be a lot happier with this sat on the drive.... http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2091263.htm
Ok not new but how much is that Jag going to plummet in value over a few years?

As would most people, but that really isn't a fair comparison. A second hand supercar vs a super saloon Value wise, it's about the same price as the M5 and E65 AMG and I would have it over both.
