Just had a £3.99 my car check thing done on my girlfriends 1.4 sport, it has been written off twice and scrapped.
I knew it had been in a crash but to be cat b damaged surely it aint safe?

Thats what i'm thinking, to be fair loads of the interior bits were missing as if it had been in a scrap yard. Didn't pay much for it though. But it passed a vic check..
It does drive reasonably fine but it can't be safe!

Which VIN did you check? Id be checking the one next to the seat.
IMO, Get the car stripped and scrapped, it could cause you hassle later on.

Yep. Tough luck you didn't do checks before. More likely a stolen car with other details put on it. Strip and scrap. Otherwise you could lose the car and end up with nothing

If there's no evidence of accident repair then it's more likely stolen and ringed with that id.
Best thing you can do it strip it and sell the bits and scrap the shell yourself.

I checked the vin number in the front of the dash near the windscreen, will find the other.
Underneath the rear bumper is all bent out of shape so the rubber seals in the boot do not sit properly.
It also had a red boot hand painted black, thats all, surely not bad enough to be cat b?
Cheers for all the comments by the way

Think what the car was worth in 2005, and if the damage cost more than the car was worth to repair they would have written it off.
Best thing to do, as said is strip it and scrap it unfortunately
