You'd be better off getting some rose joints. I find the shortshifter in my Sport just a bit notchy. But my rose jointed linkage on my F20 is really nice.
Dave B has one for sale

The mtech quickshift is extended so fits to your standard linkage then fits to the car like its a standard corsa if you get me,mtechs are slightly more expensive but you get what you pay for these days

Thats why you will be wanting a shortshift as the gearchange will be terrible running it that way

Gearchange is fine, my black valver had a shortshift and i preffered it.
You dont need to run a spacer and extended linkage if you buff the lip off the back mount

Do the nylon bushs and also the cup bushs that on the balljoints. Cup bushs are about £8 for the pair iirc from vaux. I did notice a differance.

I used two of these, with a bit of threaded bar a few nuts, and changed the bushes. It did a great job, it now feels like a Integra Type R

You could do the lot for £30

Where would that connect on the linkage? And how can I tell if mine's standard linkage or modded?

From memory it would replace the plastic section on the linkage, if your engine was fitted using a back gearbox mount spacer it will have an extended linkage.
