a lot of "new car", "what should i get" etc etc.. loads of people are saying to get BMW or looking at them or have just bought them
just wondering what the fascination with the brand is ??
you can get same build quality etc from Audi, VW (to an extent), Merc, Lexus

They are brilliant compared to the numb offerings from Audi and other brands in the price range.
IMO of course.

BM's are great but there is nothing "old man" about a Supercharged 5.5 V8 that you can get in a Merc for the same price as a good M3

Eck I was speaking in general terms I would probably pick a c63 over the current E90 just because I have been round the track @ Merc world at about 900mph in one. But at the end of the day it's an auto and all Mercs previous are set to comfort mode.

The majority of people on here had Corsa's.
The common, run of the mill every day car. Once they can afford something a little better, they move to the next logical, common, run of the mill every day car

Not sure, never seen the appeal apart from M variants or the fast diesels, seems to be a lot of snobbery about them.
Latest one's look terrible as well imo, look like a bulbous shark, pre facelift were much better.

I'm thinking of a BMW potentially in the future but the main reason is because it can tow more than a Passat or A4. Mercs I hate from my Dad's old C class, all the comfort of a BMW but uses it's door handles as stabilisers

Because they offer a lot of everything, power, looks, handling, comfort, luxury.
Tbh ive got a E36 328i Sport and it is perfect for what i need it for. i could afford something newer, faster if i wanted but i dont find my self bored enough of it yet to get rid of it. Has just shy of 200 Bhp leather, RWD w/LSD,Climate control and all the usual. I got it for a brilliant price and is alot of car for the money.

My dad's on his 4th now, he had the Merc mentioned above, he's used Audis a few times in the past but always ends up back with BMW, he's had a 316i, 318iS, 740i and now a 730i. I love the 7s, definitely want one someday but a 3 or 5 touring is what I'm hoping for next as a daily hack and to tow the Corsa

Deffo not Snobbery for me, imo the folk that have them for snobbery usually drive the lower spec ones.
As said i love mine purely for what it has, and tbf, even in standard form the handling is absolutely brilliant. perfect weight distribution and so much control with it being RWD

Bmw's are specifically designed to be a drivers car and handle well, in reviews they always out handle the competition.
