Who can recommend some decent ones?

Will be to stick new plates on the Mini, and maybe re-stick the ones on the van - yet to find any that are any good!

Cheers

i just went to my local motorfactor and got some for 30p each.

halfords only sell a roll of it and it's expensive.

the ones i got were just like hardened glue but go soft when heated up.

i buy mine from halfords, complete rip off but ive never had a problem with them. 2.99 a pack i think and they are about 4mm thick. Had to replace the pads recently to put on my new car and taking the old ones off was a right pain, so i guess that means they are good.

edit - 3 in a pack.

I was toying with the idea of Halfords ones, I'm going to need at least 8 for the Mini and if I restick the ones on the van too, another 8 This could get expensive!!

I use the UPVC window trim tape, Have never had a problem with it coming off, Also its dirt cheap for a large roll!

Just go into your local trade windows place and they should have it, Think its around £5 for a huge roll!

I find if you gently heat / warm the plates and pads and blow over the bumper with a hairdrier or heat gun they stick and dont come off. Used to drive me mad plates always popping off at one side

Sticky pads from halfords are ok. I used the ones from no1 showplaces and they lasted 5 seconds.

Isn't Velcro just too fit?

He means the velco needs a sticky back to stick to the bumper, unless he has a fluffy car.

the halfords heavy duty velcro is really strong. but makes your plate sit 3-4mm proud.

bought some cheap foam stuff and they came off pretty quickly

Your still having to stick half the velcro strip to the car, would be aswell just using stickypads then unless your planning removing platez regularly

I used to use Velcro on the C back in the days when I had all different sorts of illegal plates

Now I'm boring and cba - I just want to ditch the GB plates for non GB ones and stick them on rather than bolt them on. Trouble is, the ones I used on the van and the XE are wank and are falling off

The ones my local motorfactors sell btw are the same as you can get on eBay

Iv used halfords and motorfactor ones, both used to come off until i started using a bit of heat for sticking them, and clean both surfaces with a cloth and white spirits or electrical cleaner
